Mission Mpower Partners with Online Tech for SOX Compliant SaaS Hosting

Online Tech will be the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) hosting partner for Mission Mpower Inc. Applications of Mission Mpower will be hosted in SAS (News - Alert) 70 certified data centers of Online Tech. An announcement in this regard has been made by the New Jersey-based provider of administration and financial reporting software, Mission Mpower Inc.

In a release, Arnold Kingsberg, COO of Mission Mpower, said, “We wanted a partner that gave us the high availability and security we needed. We chose Online Tech to be that partner. We feel confident that our customers’ data is safe and secure and will always be available 24 X 7.”

Mission Mpower is an equity compensation SaaS (News - Alert) company. The company therefore needed a SaaS hosting provider with SAS 70 Type 2 data centers. The company also wanted to ensure that new SSAE 16 auditing requirements are met by the operating data centers. The process and security control procedures required for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance are evaluated with the nationally recognized audit standards, SAS 70 and SSAE 16.

A data center needs to document the proper controls and procedures around physical and network security to successfully complete the SAS 70 and SSAE 16 audit. A data center also needs to document the environmental controls, system availability and performance. Controls which have been followed consistently over time also need to be documented. These controls are determined by a third party auditor.

Mission Mpower’s entire SaaS hosting platform will be delivered by Online Tech, as part of the agreement. Fully managed dedicated servers, 24X7 monitoring and operating system upgrades are included in the agreement. Also included are 24X7 monitoring, operating system upgrades and complete response and remediation of any server issue that might arise. One of Online Tech’s high-availability data centers will house each of Mission Mpower’s servers. The data center is designed with full redundancy. The impact of power or network failure is therefore removed. The risk of an outage is also eliminated.
