Shaw Industries Implements Informatica Cloud to Boost Sales Productivity
Informatica, a provider of data integration software, announced that Shaw Industries Group, world's largest carpet manufacturer, implemented Informatica Cloud Services to help drive sales productivity across multiple lines of business.
Data integration is often cited as a primary barrier to cloud application adoption and success.
According to Ron Papas, general manager for Informatica, cloud solutions from Informatica enable organizations like Shaw Industries to quickly build and deploy data integration processes that run on demand, ensuring that they get maximum value from their data assets, regardless of where they reside.
Shaw leverages Informatica Cloud Services to integrate various product catalogs residing across 20 custom applications into its Salesforce.com (News - Alert) customer relationship management or “CRM” solution, enabling sales representatives to find relevant Shaw products and quickly create sales proposals.
The Informatica cloud solution integrates product data and account data from a number of sources into the salesforce.com sales cloud. As a result, Shaw’s field sales representatives get a single, real-time view of product and customers.
It drives timely pricing and margin analysis by replicating Shaw's latest sales data in the cloud into the company's on-premise business intelligence environment, the company said.
"Possessing a complete, real-time view of product information empowers our sales team to more efficiently meet customer needs," Keith Nichols, senior systems engineer for Shaw Industries Group, said.
Informatica Cloud Services has allowed the company to streamline the entire sales-enablement process, from data integration development to information delivery, Nichols added.
The solution saves the sales team from accessing multiple systems to try to find the information they need and eliminates the concerns about data integration during development work.
Informatica cloud services also enable rapid response to new and changing integration requirements. As it eliminates hand coding, the development task is accomplished in a few hours.
It promotes data governance and business and IT collaboration with improved information access and visibility across multiple applications and data sources, company officials added.
Recently Informatica announced the general availability of the Informatica Cloud Fall 2010 release with enhancements across its on-demand data integration service, TMCnet reported.
