DiscountASP.NET Launches SaaS Solution for Source Control and Bug Tracking
Web hosting service provider DiscountASP.NET has announced TFS Basic hosting, which the company says enables NET developers save money and time using a hosted SaaS (News - Alert) solution for source control and bug tracking, freeing up their resources to focus on developing code.
The service allows the Web hosting company to provide a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for source code version control and bug tracking which integrates with Microsoft (News - Alert) Visual Studio 2010.
“With our TFS hosting service, developers can save money and time associated with on-premise source management and focus on what they do best - develop code,” said Takeshi Eto, VP Marketing and Business Development at DiscountASP.NET (News - Alert).
Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 is a collaboration platform that is at the center of Microsoft’s application lifecycle management solution. With TFS solution, Microsoft developers can use familiar Visual Studio development tools to manage source control and track bugs, whether the developer works alone or with many developers.
“Developers are increasingly interested in cloud-hosted source-code control, bug tracking and collaboration tools to improve productivity and reduce costs,” comments Dave Mendlen, senior director developer marketing at Microsoft Corp. “By offering Team Foundation Server as a hosted service, DiscountASP.NET is able to provide attractive developer productivity options to its customers by simplifying the deployment and operational tasks and letting them focus on writing code.”
TFS hosting solution is a separate service, and developers don’t have to be a DiscountASP.NET web hosting customer to take advantage of TFS.
The TFS Basic Hosting service starts at $20 per month per user. Once they sign in, customers can get access to a TFS control panel to manage their account, billing and TFS users and group members.
A Microsoft Gold Partner, DiscountASP.NET was one of the first hosts to support ASP.NET 4.0, IIS7 remote management and web deployment.
