Strategic Products and Services Serves Heritage Nortel Users

October 21, 2010

Platinum certified Avaya Global Connect (News - Alert) channel partner Strategic Products and Services (SPS) is set to launch a new business division focused on heritage Nortel (News - Alert) users.

The SPS NES Practice, a separate division within the company, is being set up to support Nortel client needs. To this end, the company is hiring experienced technical, operations and engineering professionals certified on the products recently added to the Avaya (News - Alert) portfolio following the Avaya acquisition of Nortel.

John Poole, SPS president, noted in a press release that Heritage Nortel users to be in a period of significant transition and said that they deserve support from a stable organization built to understand their present platform and unique needs.

According to Poole, SPS respects the investments clients have made in Nortel and their loyalty to that product. Clients require reliable support and logical 'next-step' technology roadmap assistance that is consistent with their internal schedules, budgets and overall business objectives.

SPS specializes in the design, installation and support of converged communication solutions, advanced IP telephony applications, unified communications, contact center, network infrastructure and mobility solutions.

Avaya endorsed SPS with "Service Expert" and "SME Expert" award and recognizes it as one of North America's top technology integrators.

For this project, SPS will leverage existing investments the company made in their Network Operations Center (NOC (News - Alert)), infrastructure, engineering process and methodology to ensure best-in-class support to Nortel users.

SPS will make the related announcement at the upcoming NEARMUG Conference, Oct. 24 to Oct. 27 at the Hyatt Regency in Newport, R.I.

The company is a Platinum Sponsor of the NEARMUG Conference and will be presenting two sessions during the event.

The first session titled "The Evolution of Enterprise-Wide Customer Care," will be presented Tuesday, Oct. 26, by Jim Lagger, SPS contact center solutions architect.

The second session titled "Understanding the Vision: Avaya-Nortel Roadmap and Avaya Aura Architecture," will be presented by Mike Taylor, SPS chief technology officer, the same day.
