Camstar Systems' CamstarSQN Manages Quality and Compliance

Camstar Systems, a provider of solutions for manufacturing execution, process planning, enterprise quality management and supply chain quality, has launched CamstarSQN, a cloud-_based supplier quality network that is designed to help brand owners and component suppliers work together on quality at the source and proactively make sure that the incoming components are up to par.

With CamstarSQN, suppliers can access the network without making any kind of alterations to their own IT infrastructures and seamlessly collaborate with brand owners to define quality processes and methods. They will also be able to do their own analysis of real-time process data, detect and correct quality issues before shipment, and better understand critical-to-quality characteristics that ensure preferred supplier status.

Officials with the company claimed that by offering reliability testing solutions to the largest component suppliers in China for decades, they realized a critical gap that CamstarSQN promises to fill. These suppliers are working diligently to earn their customers’ high ratings by ensuring that products they produce consistently exceed expectations. CamstarSQN will allow customers to better understand those expectations, and proactively manage their quality and compliance issues, ultimately improving their overall manufacturing excellence.

They added that in this new world of global outsourced manufacturing, brand owners have growing responsibilities for every step of the supply chain, where quality problems ultimately impact their brand and their bottom line. This state-of-the-art supplier quality collaboration hub gives them instant visibility into their supply chain, detecting potential problems before they escape, creating leaner, more responsive operations, and ultimately accelerating their decision velocity.

Camstar claimed that it employs a fundamentally different, holistic approach to the quality process and its quality management goes beyond traditional compliance-focused Quality Management Systems -- integrating with third-party applications (ERP, MES, PLM, shop floor, and more) to achieve a closed-loop process.

Camstar has also allegedly signed a partnership agreement with AMREP Supplier Management Services to help suppliers deliver electronic Certificates of Compliance (COC), eliminate the need for frequent and disruptive on-site audits and ultimately achieve their quality goals.
