Xtera Communications Extends Value Added Reseller to Increase Sales and Support

May 13, 2011

To improve scalability and responsiveness in IP network management application, Xtera Communications' (News - Alert) IP Networking Group, a company in network devices and providers of world class solutions for IP traffic management has extended its Value Added Reseller (VAR) program to increase sales and support of its IP network management product line in North America.

According to a press release, Xtera's extensive use of VARs has been successful in significantly growing sales in markets outside of the US, including, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and South America. The sales in some regions have doubled each of the past two years.

Xtera's IP product line has been popular among VARs looking to offer a low-cost, high-quality solution for IP network management of growing VoIP, video and data applications.

Xtera's proven VAR program includes Extensive Pre-Sales and Sales Support, Installation Support, Recurring Sales and Technical Support.

Xtera's IP product line is anchored by AscenFlow, an Intelligent WAN traffic manager. It protects critical network and web applications using Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technology to analyze IP network traffic and apply quality of service enforcement policies.

AscenFlow's DPI technology solves network congestion by identifying and restricting bandwidth of recreational applications such as P2P, iTunes, YouTube, Facebook (News - Alert) and online gaming. AscenLink is an intelligent WAN load balancer for use by enterprise and small business users will also be offered by VARs in North America.

The AscenLink load balancer incorporates patented Tunnel Routing technology which offers link aggregation and fault tolerance over multiple links for various applications, including VPN and Video Streaming.

It is used extensively in applications requiring more Internet access bandwidth than is available from single-link access technologies and is able to deliver significant cost savings and reliability improvements over single-link inter-site private line or VPN intranet connections.

In other company news, TMCnet reported that Xtera Communications, Inc. has acquired United Kingdom-based Polariq Ltd.
