InfoCision Brings the Dream of Working at Home to Elkins, West Virginia

June 08, 2011

A common complaint of people in the workforce is often not related to the job they perform, but instead it is their commute to get back and forth from the job that raises their ire. It’s not uncommon to hear working people say they wish they could work from home and cite a number of reasons, such as family schedules or difficulty with mobility or transportation, for having this desire.

Unfortunately for the majority of these people, that dream is not always possible because it takes a combination of factors to make a work-at-home job possible, the most notable being work that lends itself to being performed at home and a company that is progressive enough and has the technologies to do so.

For the workforce in Elkins, West Virginia, the work-at-home dream has the potential of coming true. InfoCision (News - Alert), The nation's second largest teleservices company that provides inbound and outbound marketing for nonprofit, religious, and political organizations, began its first round of interviews today in Elkins for people to work for it Virtual Call Center.

The local TV station, WBOY-TV, reported that approximately 40 people applied for the positions. It said the employees of the Virtual Call Center do work that is similar to InfoCision’s brick and mortar call centers, with the difference being, “You could sit at home in your comfort clothes and be relaxed. We do hope you have a quiet environment to work in so you can focus on your work, but by all means kick your feet if you have to,” InfoCision's Denise Hedrick told WBOY-TV in an earlier interview

In addition to a quiet environment, people who are employed by the Virtual Call Center are required to have a computer with Windows version XP or newer, a cable or DSL internet connection, a monitor with at least 1024x768 resolution and a valid e-mail address, according to WBOY-TV.

Following the first round of interviews, the TV station quoted InfoCision Human Resource Coordinator, Jessica Riffle as saying, “The applicants we saw in Elkins were some very high-quality people who fit the bill of what we’re looking for in our employees.” She continued, “With so many qualified people coming out last time, we want to make sure that anyone in Elkins looking for work has chance to talk to us about our positions.”

The report said InfoCision will be holding interviews for its Virtual Call Center will be held again on Thursday, June 9 at the Workforce Employment Service office at 1023 N. Randolph Avenue, in Elkins, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

InfoCision’s website says, “InfoCision’s work-from-home program offers all the stability and professionalism of our call centers, which have been named among the top 10 best places to work in Ohio by the state Chamber of Commerce for three years in a row.”

In other news, TMCnet reported, “Recently TMC’s (News - Alert) CEO, Rich Tehrani, was in Akron, Ohio to speak with Steve Brubaker (News - Alert), the chief of staff of InfoCision, who told Tehrani about their recognition as ‘the highest quality call center in the world.’”
