Amazon S3 Offers LiveTime Customers Reliable Backup Services

June 24, 2011

The addition of Amazon S3 backups for disaster recovery to LiveTime's public and private cloud solutions is a welcome value-add on for the company's many SaaS (News - Alert) customers.

As many reputed companies are moving to LiveTime's on-premise and SaaS based ITSM service management solutions, it becomes incumbent on LiveTime to ensure data integrity. Amazon S3, which claims to provide a highly scalable, reliable and secure environment for protection of data , is well positioned to provide LiveTime customers this assurance.

Amazon S3 provides a simple web services interface, where data can be stored and retrieved at will from anywhere in the world. Developers have access to the same infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own network.

The infrastructure, designed for mission-critical and primary data storage, is highly scalable, flexible and an inexpensive option for many companies resorting to the cloud..

Objects are redundantly stored on multiple devices across multiple facilities in an Amazon S3 Region, ensuring that businesses don't suffer downtime that affects business continuity and quality of services that they offer to their customers.

The Amazon S3 backups service is offered free to existing customers in addition to other services such as Geo-location and localized spell checking. Data can also be stored by LiveTime in Ireland, Singapore or the USA to cater to regional regulatory requirements.

LiveTime is based on open standards and supports any OS, any browser and any database. It is used by many global 2000 companies.

In related news, LiveTime Software announced the addition of Single Sign-On capabilities using OpenID providers such as Google (News - Alert) and Yahoo for seamless access to its IT Service Management solution.
