Specialty Answering Service Modifies Its Emergency Recovery Plan to Cope with Hurricane Irene
In a recent press release, the U.S. based live operator call center for small, medium, and large companies, Specialty Answering Service announced that it has been successful in dealing with Hurricane Irene that wreaked havoc through the eastern portion of the United States.
It is nothing new for Specialty Answering Service to deal with hurricanes. They have operations in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts; the latest one threatened with the possibility of closing down of its multiple call centers along the east coast. But with the initiation of a few changes in its answering service emergency recovery plan, the call center has been able to continue with their services.
In the release, Specialty Answering Service maintained that Hurricane Irene is the only time in recent memory that multiple locations have been put in the storm’s way. The company explained that there is always a hurricane emergency preparedness plan in place, so that in the times of weather emergency, it is able to offload the burden to other call centers. However, Hurricane Irene, which swept past the entire east coast, threatening the close-down of the company’s eleven call centers, caused for a change in their answering service emergency recovery plan.
Specialty team members had to prepare a plan for what to do if all call centers were to be affected. At the same time, they had to work out a unique plan based on the possible combinations of locations closing.
Luckily, the storm has passed by several of the Specialty Answering Service locations, leaving them unscathed. Still, there is still a very strong possibility that some of the call centers will have to be closed down, as Irene continues to leave devastation on it path. In such cases, other locations should stay prepare to share the call volumes of the closed answering service locations. The Specialty Answering Service staff has been tracking the Hurricane non-stop, with an eye on the Television, the internet and a specialized iPhone (News - Alert) app dedicated to tracking Hurricane Irene. The company confirmed that it is well equipped to adjust its plans based on t the anticipated outcome of the storm’s path.
The hurricane is expected to have caused huge damages to the business infrastructure as well as basic amenities. Specialty made it clear that it will continue to track and make adjustments based on the final outcome of the storm. Specialty announces its plan about offering free businesses answering service as a way to extending helping hand to the fellow small business owners.
Recently Specialty Answering Service topped over 5,000 followers on Twitter (News - Alert), indicating people’s interest in reading tweets from company spokespeople pertaining to the latest news from the business, as well as what types of live answering service it offers.
