Cassidian Communications and Mendocino County, California Renew Emergency Notification Contract

Cassidian Communications, an EADS (News - Alert) North America company, announced that its contract for hosted emergency notification services with the Mendocino County, Calif., Sheriff’s Office has been renewed. Under the terms of the renewed contract, county officials will be provided with continued remote access to the hosted The Communicator! NXT and GeoCast Web solutions. The hosted service from Cassidian has been designed to establish fast multi-modal communication with emergency service providers, the local community and others working within the public safety domain.

In a release, Lori Keiser, communications supervisor for the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said that, “The decision to extend our service contract with Cassidian Communications was an easy one, especially considering our long-standing relationship with the company and the past success of our emergency notification program. With The Communicator! NXT and GeoCast Web solutions from Cassidian Communications, we are prepared to assemble emergency response teams and alert local residents at a moment’s notice. Our decision to continue our contract ultimately will benefit the many residents and visitors of Mendocino County, now and into the future.”

The 88,000 strong population in Mendocino County is provided with efficient and timely law enforcement services by the Sheriff’s Office. By leveraging The Communicator! NXT and GeoCast Web solutions, the Sheriff’s Office keeps the community informed of any situation or event impacting public safety as well as keeping people updated on missing person situations or any other such incidents.

During any emergency situation, the web-based notification solutions, which can be remotely accessed, delivers automatic voice and text messages to the concerned agency or department. The solutions relay precise information such map locations, and other such instructions which can help protect and save innocent lives.

The Communicator! NXT and GeoCast Web solutions enable effective communication across all geographic locations via its secure hosting facilities which have received the SSAE 16-certification. The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, is provided with real-time reports which helps in keeping them informed about any and all notification efforts, thereby enhancing situational awareness of the concerned officials across any emergency network.

In other news, Cassidian Communications recently announced that it has completed the system deployment of a new CORP25 digital, trunked simulcast P25 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) network for the city of Richardson (News - Alert), Texas. With the completion of this installation, the network is now on the air and ready to handle more than 7000 calls in an average day.
