J2 Global Announces Its Second Cloud Service Acquisition

j2 Global (News - Alert), Inc. announced that it has acquired Landslide Technologies, Inc., a Boston-based provider of online customer relationship management solutions designed for small to mid-sized businesses.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but the company maintained that the financial impact to j2 Global is not expected to be material.

j2 Global is a Los Angeles-based  provider of messaging and communications services to individuals and businesses worldwide. The company offers its cloud based services under eFax, eFax Corporate and Onebox brands. Its other brands include, eVoice (News - Alert), My1Voice, Electric Mail, FuseMail, Fax.com, Send2Fax, jConnect, RapidFAX, SmartFax, TrustFax, MyFax,Campaigner and KeepITsafe.

The acquisition of Landslide marks the company’s second acquisition in less than one month. In the last week of January, j2 announced that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Offsite Backup Solutions, a Phoenix-based provider of online backup solutions.

“The Landslide acquisition reflects continued execution of our plan to expand our array of cloud-based services for business. Landslide brings us a proven CRM platform for small to mid-sized businesses and an established customer base. It also provides us an additional value-added service to sell through our existing sales channels and into our existing base of more than 2 million paid cloud service subscribers,” CEO of j2 Global Hemi Zucker explained in a statement.

Last month, j2 Global announced that its eFax brand has expanded its international presence by adding websites in seven new languages (Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin, Danish, Swedish, Romanian) to join the other languages already supported (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese). This expansion allows eFax customers to have the option of selecting payment in one of 20 currencies, including Indian Rupee, Brazilian Real, Mexican Peso, Romanian New Lei, Danish Krone and Swedish Krona, to name a few. With the expansion, eFax has added language-specific customer service and sales support for select countries.
