Open-Xchange and Rack-Soft Integrate Collaboration and UC
September 04, 2009
Open-Xchange is extending its collaboration software with Rack-Soft's unified communications software to give end users telephone, fax, presence, instant messaging integrated with e-mail, contacts, calendar and task information.
The companies have also agreed to resell their products and according to Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange, this deal extends their e-mail and groupware solution to a one-stop communication center that boosts user’s productivity.
Open-Xchange develops scalable and integrated open source e-mail and collaboration solutions for enterprises, academic institutions, and government authorities. Laguna said this agreement has given their on-premise customers and SaaS (News - Alert) partners a number of options such as addition of VoIP services, advanced call center functionality, or enterprise telephony to their Open-Xchange deployment.
Rack-Soft develops innovative software for servers and data centers based on the 4Grid framework. For Rack-Soft, this partnership means they will now be able to provide 4PSA VoipNow users the ability to use e-mail, groupware and unified communications in an integrated environment, noted Bogdan Carstoiu, CEO of Rack-Soft.
Carstoiu explains that they intend to tag (News - Alert) voicemails and faxes in the user’s mailbox and schedule voice conferences from the calendar. They also hope to improve user experience in other areas, he added.
Open-Xchange and Rack-Soft already share a fruitful business relationship, are long-time partners of SaaS platform software provider, Parallels, and have all worked together to simplify SaaS deployments.
The officials inform that Rack-Soft’s 4PSA VoipNow is currently supporting Parallels software and Open-Xchange supports the Application Packaging Standard developed by Parallels.
Jack Zubarev, president of the Service Provider Division at Parallels said that Open-Xchange and Rack-Soft are helping them to deliver innovative technologies via SaaS, which help end users control costs and improve efficiency.
"With features built into Parallels software, service providers can introduce value-added services like Open-Xchange and 4PSA VoipNow to achieve higher average revenue-per-user while managing their operations more efficiently," he said.
