Cabinet Extends Document Management to QuickBooks

October 08, 2009
Cabinet NG, or “CNG,” has launched a document management solution that supports filing of QuickBooks documents either locally or in a hosted environment. CNG’s document management software moves manual paper-based processes into efficient electronic workflows.

According to Andrew Bailey, president of CNG, some users will find the document management feature built into the latest version of QuickBooks satisfactory for filing transaction related documents over the Internet. However, some might not since such a feature is already available to QuickBooks users through the Intuit (News - Alert) Developers Network. Bailey said that CNG is pleased to announce they are now able to extend the management of documents in a hosted environment to the QuickBooks community.

CNG was the first Intuit Developers Network, or “IDN,” Partner to offer integrated document management for QuickBooks. QuickBooks users can apply the CNG-Shared Access Filing Environment, or “SAFE,” document management system to securely manage documents across their entire business. In addition, CNG-SAFE accelerates business processes by automating the flow of documents as part of its integral workflow capabilities. CNG-SAFE supports the customer's preference of operating document management as a local or online hosted solution.

Companies that select CNG while using QuickBooks will benefit from the rich document management underpinnings of CNG-SAFE, which can store and manage almost any document format. It includes flexible security, workflow management, activity tracking and also scales to fit the needs of growing companies. CNG-SAFE provides features like automated workflow, full text, index and keyword search, security classes, retention policies, audit trail of user activity, version control and company-wide document management for QuickBooks 2010 users that are not available through Intuit.

Bailey said that often, businesses need to manage documents outside the accounting department or need a system to automate their document processes. CNG has solutions to meet all these requirements. Cabinet NG products enable companies to manage large volumes of documents, optimize workflow, enforce privacy and improve efficiency while preserving established processes. CNG products are available through a network of Value-Added Resellers, System Integrators and Application Developers.
