ManageEngine Unveils the Beta Version of ServiceDesk Plus

April 28, 2010

As companies employ various forms of communication, managing all of them seamlessly can be a herculean task. To help them in this area, ManageEngine has introduced the beta version of ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand, an ITIL-ready help desk and asset management solution.

ServiceDesk Plus is a web-based help desk software that helps you manage all your communications from a single point. It offers an integrated Request management, Asset management, Purchase order management, Contract Management, Self-Service Portal, and Knowledge Base (News - Alert). ServiceDesk Plus packs all the modules at an affordable price.

Cutting customers' up-front investment in service management software by 100 percent and significantly lowering ongoing costs with a pay-as-you-go pricing model, ServiceDesk Plus becomes even more valuable in a SaaS (News - Alert) delivery model as it is designed for small and mid-size businesses as well as mid-size enterprises. ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand features automated trouble ticketing and facilitates the streamlining of IT services through ITIL best practices.

"Any business wanting to implement a help desk system to streamline and efficiently manage their IT resources can rapidly get started without facing the traditional high initial expenditures,' said Rajesh Ganesan, director, product management, ManageEngine (News - Alert). 'Businesses can also achieve significant savings by not having to spend any money -- or put any effort into -- ongoing maintenance, yet continually derive all the benefits expected from the service."

Helping reduce the complexity of workflows in production and making it easier for IT administrators to run effective helpdesk operations, the web-based suite includes Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management and a Configuration Management Database (CMDB). It also includes various features designed to aid help desk professionals in their day-to-day responsibilities.

Recently, the company announced that it has upgraded its network management application to "OpManager" version 8. The product is to facilitate network infrastructure monitoring and management making it faster and easier. The new OpManager 8 will display an "Intro" tab on start up within the application's Web-based management console. This tab leads an IT administrator through set-up process. This is divided into 4 categories: Discover, Visualize, Manage and Reports.
