Altico Advisors, a provider of business, financial, and customer management software solutions for mid-sized companies, has launched a Microsoft (News - Alert) Dynamics User Group on LinkedIn where Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and CRM users can interface, share information, and exchange ideas. The User Group is open by invitation or by request.

'The advantages of a Web-based group are many. Members can log in when it's convenient for them to do so. They can set up alerts so that they're notified when new information is posted on the site. The fact that participation is not constrained by geography or time zone is very appealing,' explained Marcia Nita Doron, marketing director, Altico Advisors.

There is no cost to join. The only requirement is that members be users of Microsoft Dynamics GP or Dynamics CRM.

'In our role as an elite Microsoft partner, Altico Advisors launched its first Dynamics User Group in 2005,' Mike Kean, president of Altico said. 'Sessions were held on site with a dial-in option. The need was there but the convenience was not. By moving to a LinkedIn Group format, we can provide a participatory, informational forum that is accessible anytime from anywhere. It's a beautiful thing.'

LinkedIn, launched in 2003, is a business-oriented professional networking site with more than 65 million registered users today. The 'gated-access approach' (where contact with any professional requires either a preexisting relationship or the intervention of a contact of theirs) is intended to build trust among the service's users. LinkedIn Groups allow users to establish new business relationships by joining alumni, industry, or professional groups that pertain to them.
