Movius Versera ICE Platform Bringing Voice to Alltel Wireles

Alltel Wireless selected the Versera Intelligent Communications Environment (ICE) value-added services platform from Movius Interactive Corporation to provide voice-messaging services to its approximately 800,000 subscribers across North America.

Versera ICE is a single platform that accommodates new value-added services, streamlines deployment and reduces the cost of delivering highly marketable services to consumers and enterprise subscribers. Versera ICE solutions solve the problem of bridging old and new technology strategies for service providers.

With the help of Versera ICE solution, carriers can have the flexibility to deliver unique and innovative services cost effectively through a single platform. Apart from offering many third party applications such as voice-to-text, Alltel (News - Alert) Wireless can now also offer its subscribers with market-driven applications such as MessageMe visual voicemail and My Services online subscriber portal, the company stated.

“Versera ICE is the perfect single solution for Alltel Wireless’s provision of voice messaging to its subscribers, who expect to receive a quality service under the Alltel brand,” said Movius (News - Alert) Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales, Neil McGowan, in a press release. “The Versera ICE platform will also lay the foundation for Alltel Wireless to introduce additional applications to meet the needs of their subscribers.”

Alltel will use the Versera ICE platform as a key component of its evolution from existing legacy systems to next-generation communication platforms. To support a full suite of messaging and communication applications, the Versera ICE solution has been deployed by both wireless and wireline carriers worldwide. Alltel is a wireless telecommunications provider serving more than 800,000 customers in six states.

In September 2009, the company partnered with Neutral Tandem, Inc., to enable telecommunications carriers to reduce the risk and accelerate the speed of delivering new interactive messaging applications. Movius Interactive Corporation provides messaging, collaboration and mobile media solutions for service providers and enterprise customers. As per the terms of the new agreement, Movius and Neutral Tandem (News - Alert) will provide messaging services to wireless, wireline, cable and broadband operators on a hosted basis.
