Fiberlink Adds New Module to MaaS360 Cloud-Based Platform
Fiberlink Communications Corporation known for its cloud-based mobility as a service (MaaS) solutions recently enhanced its product portfolio with the launch of MaaS360 Device Management View. In a press release, the company announced that its new solution has been designed to provide organizations with real time data and reporting on desktops, laptops and netbooks, regardless of where devices are located or connected.
The IT departments of the organizations are going to especially benefit from Device Management View solution. The solution, according to Fiberlink, will enable IT departments to proactively identify, locate and troubleshoot machines with problems, quickly react to inbound issues and better align IT resources with business processes.
The solution is also going to allow IT to view all devices, search for devices that meet complex attributes, save search groups, manage custom attributes and drill down into device level views for improved support and desktop management.
Senior Product Manager of Fiberlink, Chris Corbet, said in a statement that Device Management View will provide the professionals responsible for desktop management with a powerful tool. “The Device Management View module significantly improves MaaS360’s already strong reporting capabilities. Individuals who are responsible for desktop management and support now have a system to perform daily operations with greater efficiency, saving time and money. The feedback that we’ve already received from several customers has been outstanding,” continued Corbet.
Device Management View is an add-on to Fiberlink’s award-winning MaaS360 cloud-based platform. In the release, Fiberlink has provided the key features of the solution:
- Device-level reporting: provides a detailed look at individual devices. Administrators can see endpoint security, missing application and patch updates, compliance incidents, Internet and VPN connections, hardware and software and more.
- Smart search: enables complex searches across any combination of hardware and software attributes.
- Quick search: makes it possible to search for a computer or OS username from any page on the MaaS360 platform and get routed directly to the device details.
- Saved search groups: allows IT to save smart search queries for future use and later access these searches for an updated list of devices meeting the criteria.
- Custom attributes: allows administrators to populate and create different custom attributes for their devices.
- Real time data: enables customers to view data within minutes of install and changes to devices are updated in near real time.
Earlier this month Fiberlink launched the MaaSters Center, a community where network, desktop and mobile IT professionals discuss and learn about enterprise mobility and mobile device management. In addition to a community forum, the MaaSters Center includes an online library of in-depth technical content that includes Webinars and how-to guides that provide best practices, tips and in-depth answers to common questions and problems.
