MOSSExtra.com Announces CRM Knowledge Base Search

November 04, 2010

Bidoma, a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of business intelligence (BI) and SharePoint software and solutions announced the availability of MOSSExtra.com website.

The new website enables Microsoft (News - Alert) SharePoint customers to try and buy apps to help run their businesses more efficiently using existing SharePoint installations.

MOSSExtra.com apps are designed to deliver efficient customer service by reducing inefficiencies and promoting self-service capabilities, company officials said.

The first app offered on MOSSExtra.com is Dynamics CRM KB Search, which enables organizations to share an existing Microsoft Dynamics customer relationship management (CRM) knowledge base (KB) through SharePoint.

The KB contains the most common answers and solutions documented that users can rely upon to reduce initial contact with live support personnel. The KB search app aims to reduce the number of service requests by answering the most common questions online, and thereby saving money, company officials said.

The website helps SharePoint users maintain single knowledge base in Dynamics CRM, decide what articles to publish to SharePoint, decide where to publish articles, and so on. It also provides simple search of KB articles.

Users can share articles using hyperlinks or by e-mail. The website provides multi-language support (English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portugese, Spanish).

The KB search app is available in different editions to accommodate single server ($499) to multiple server enterprise ($999) scenarios, the company said. The app is available at no cost for 30 days for trial.

Bidoma solutions are based on the latest Microsoft technologies. The company is a member of the Microsoft Partner Network and regularly participates in early adopter programs.

In September, the company announced the release of Bidoma Alert 1.2, which adds support for enterprise scenarios commonly used in complex BI implementations. Bidoma Alert is the only commercially available alerting solution for Microsoft PerformancePoint, the company said.
