Houston READ Chose Constant Contact to Enhance Communications

November 22, 2010

Houston READ Commission selected the services of Constant Contact in order to implement a better and more consistent way to communicate with donors and supporters.

Development Director, Anne Criner, of Houston READ realized the necessity for such a system during the holiday season and hence picked Constant Contact (News - Alert) the company that made e-mail marketing for small organizations popular.

Criner added, “We chose Constant Contact because we wanted an easy, professional way to stay in touch with our donors and supporters, and we could not be happier. In just two months, we’ve grown our e-mail list by 33 percent from around 600 subscribers, to more than 800.”

Houston READ Commission is a nonprofit organization which strives to lead and mobilize a coalition of literacy providers and resources for improving the literacy landscape of Houston.

It also supports the Mayor of Houston’s Coalition for Literacy, an association of more than one hundred seventy five literacy sites in Houston. These member organizations, known as literacy providers, try to eliminate illiteracy by offering educational services geared toward the specific needs of their communities.

“Nonprofits need online marketing tools that are affordable, professional and easy to use, because they just don’t have the time to waste on things that don’t work. As Annie at Houston READ Commission said, Constant Contact works. We’re looking forward to helping them grow, and if they get stuck along the way, our free coaching, education and support will be right there to help,” said Constant Contact CEO, Gail Goodman, in a press release.

Houston READ Commission promotes the importance of literacy in order to advance the city’s and country’s economic and intellectual success. The READ Commission establishes partnerships with the public libraries and the school districts besides also fostering relationships with the Mayor’s Office and all of City Council.

It demonstrates that supporting literacy in Houston deals with the problems of low employment, crime, high drop-out rates and excessive healthcare costs. By sponsoring literacy, these fundamental and influential systems of government, community and civic services support economic growth, help reduce crime and improve education statistics in Houston, said official sources.

Constant Contact’s e-mail marketing, event marketing, social media marketing and online survey tools help small organizations to develop their businesses by building stronger customer relationships.

It caters to the needs of over 400,000 small businesses, nonprofits and member associations, who use Constant Contact’s easy-to use, affordable online tools to create and deliver personalized, professional communications that engage casual customers, members and customers.
