Amcom's Smartphone Messaging Solution to Enhance Patient Care at Stony Brook
The Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, N.Y., has chosen Amcom Software Inc.'s Mobile Connect for its pager replacement and smartphone messaging system. Amazon Software connects people to each other and to the data they need.

- Alert) smartphones facility-wide. The Amcom Mobile Connect smartphone messaging solution will integrate with Stony Brook’s existing mission-critical solutions from Amcom, which are already in use.
As a result of such integration, staff efficiency and patient safety are greatly enhanced. This is because a single source of accurate information, and on-call calendars will be accessible at all times. Group notification messages can be sent the same it is done with pagers. The medical center will also benefit from encrypted messages and full visibility and traceability of all message activity.
Hence, all details regarding the time the message was sent, delivered and opened, and the information contained in each response are all available. This helps organizations save lives with communications that are faster, more accurate, and more efficient
In a press release, Chris Heim, CEO of Amcom Software, said, “We are pleased to work with Stony Brook as they strengthen their existing communications infrastructure with advanced smartphone messaging capabilities,” and added, “We are confident the hospital’s clinical and administrative staffs will find great efficiency and ease of use in being able to leverage smartphones in the delivery of high-quality patient care.”

In a related news release, Amcom software Inc., announced that Royal Darwin Hospital and the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Center in the Northern Territory has selected its e.Notify Emergency Notification Solution. The 363-bed hospital will use the system to quickly contact the right staff members on the right communications devices for any situation requiring immediate attention or mobilization.
