nuBridges Protect Token Manager Intregates With Semafone's Payment Technology
Delivering innovative new data protection solutions to the call center industry, nuBridges has partnered with UK-based Semafone to deploy and integrated nuBridges Protect Token Manager solution, ensuring increased protection of credit card numbers on the phone. Integrated with Semafone’s payment security technology, the industry-leading Format Preserving Tokenisation solution helps combat call center fraud by masking and tokenizing credit card numbers taken over the telephone.
In a release, David Jackson, Semafone founder said, “Payment card security is a critical issue for any organization with a brand reputation to protect. By adding tokenisation to Semafone, we not only better protect cardholder information throughout the organization but also take entire systems, applications and databases out of scope for PCI (News - Alert) audits.”
Being one of Europe’s largest acquirers and processors of card transactions, Barclaycard is an active member of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Board of Advisors. Playing a prominent role in promoting security in the payment value chain, Barclaycard advises customers to leverage tokenisation techniques to assess the suitability for their environment of risk mitigation technologies, thus becoming more secure.
In the release, Neira Jones, head of payment security at Barclaycard said, “Call centers are an often overlooked area when trying to comply with the PCI standards. The good news is that tokenisation and innovative secure call centre technologies can make a big difference in securing credit cards and reducing call centre fraud.”
Customers can now enter credit card data via their telephone keypad using Semafone’s dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) technology instead of saying it aloud. The software then masks the data before sending to the payment portal; thus the data is not even disclosed to the customer service agent. Also, there is reduced scope for PCI compliance and annual audits since the information is not maintained in the organization’s database system.
Included as part of the portfolio of nuBridges Protect, nuBridges Protect Token Manager is the industry’s first data security software solution that offers a single platform-agnostic package comprising of the unique combination of Format Preserving Tokenisation with strong local encryption and centralized encryption key management and logging, said company officials.
Organizations that need to protect payment card numbers along with volumes of personally identifiable information (PII) and electronic health records (EHR) from theft and accidental loss can take advantage of nuBridges Protect solutions that can be implemented with reduced complexity while showing compliance for data security standards and privacy laws.
