Sentry42 Launches New Gatehouse Data Centre

Sentry42, which offers secure, purpose built, data center facilities, has launched a 60,000-square-foot data centre in the U.K.

The newly refurbished Gatehouse Data Centre, which the company claims to be of one of the most secure, reliable and environmentally-advanced data centres, is located close to Norwich . Migration Solutions, the data centre and computer room specialists, has been appointed by Sentry42 to carry out refurbishment.

The data centre in Norwich, which previously belonged to a major insurance player, is a purpose built facility and Migration Solutions has been awarded the contract for its refurbishment, which has an initial value of approximately $19.53 million.

Today’s data centre customers rightly demand state-of-the-art environmental design without comprise on reliability or security,” said Alex Rabbetts, managing director of Migration Solutions, in a statement.

Rabbetts said that the Gatehouse achieves this and scores very highly on every customer requirement. Officials with Migration Solutions said that the Gatehouse, which will open to customers on May 11, will provide facilities for companies from across sectors looking to outsource their hosting requirements to a flexible facility which can accommodate growth.

It offers N+1 power redundancy with diverse supply to all cabinets and the back-up of UPS and generators with enough fuel to run the entire data centre for up to eight days at full load. The Gatehouse’s telecommunications connectivity offers access to multiple providers via managed Telco Interchange Rooms (TIRs) including BT, Cable & Wireless (News - Alert) and Virgin Media, all of which take fibre onto the site.
