Heartland Payment Systems Adds ACH Functionality to its Platform
Allowing companies to process all check transactions from one location, Heartland Payment Systems has added Automated Clearing House (ACH) functionality to its Express Funds check management platform, the company has stated.
A proven time saver, Heartland’s Check Management system efficiently handles check deposits through recovery and collection. Customers can now improve cash flow by having funds credited to your account as soon as the next weekday morning.
For one-time and recurring payments, ACH technology enables the electronic transfer of funds for inbound or outbound payments. Apart from corporate-to-corporate payments, it also provides association dues, mortgage and other installment loan payments. Also, for posting transaction records to their accounting software, ACH creates an import file based on client requirements in addition to the above mentioned payments.
“Our clients are looking to streamline their check management systems, and we are confident Express Funds ACH will meet their needs for speedy and reliable transactions,” said Tim McKenna, director of Check and ACH Services at Heartland. "The ACH functionality also gives business owners access to a service-oriented architecture that allows for easy integration with their current software.”
There has been an increase in ACH technology’s use among various industries because of its convenience and security, the company claims. According to a research by TowerGroup, a research and advisory services firm focused exclusively on the global financial services industry, the United States ACH market will grow seven percent annually through 2012. Heartland adding ACH to its check management services will be beneficial for its long time Express Funds client, the company stated.
In August 2009, the company launched prepaid calling services including wireless and long-distance minutes through its new ePIN It! program. Now, business owners can download the program directly to their point-of-sale (POS) terminals and allow customers to purchase more than 110 offerings from most major wireless carriers. The offering also includes domestic and international long-distance products. When customers purchase minute allotments, personal identification numbers (PINs) are printed on receipts.Raju Shanbhag is a contributing editor for TMCnet.
