LiveOps and City of Newark to Create Work Opportunities for Citizens
LiveOps, a provider of solutions aimed at solving technology and workforce needs for businesses, and the City of Newark announced a partnership to create work opportunities in the greater Newark, N.J. region.
Newark is the third-oldest city in the U.S., with a population of more than 280,000 people.
Recently, several local Newark residents joined the LiveOps (News - Alert) independent agent community. As a LiveOps independent agent, they can provide sales and customer service type work to companies by using a phone and an Internet connection to the LiveOps contact center platform.
“I believe we can go beyond traditional job training and placement to create collaborations that lead to new jobs for our residents,” said Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, in a statement. “I’m pleased to report that we are partnering with LiveOps, a virtual call center that lets people to work from home and set their own schedules.”
The Newark city is looking for more than 100 residents to work for LiveOps by the end of 2011.
“We recognize that people need options when the traditional model of work has failed, and we’ve been leading the way in creating the technologies and key partnerships to get people back to work,” said Maynard Webb, chairman and CEO, LiveOps.
LiveOps is looking at partnering with other cities and states across the U.S. LiveOps is keen on creating more flexible work opportunities. It will continue its innovation and better performance in its business operations. The company is also committed to reduce the negative impact on families and environment by commuting to a job.
The LiveOps community grew to more than 20,000 U.S. independent business owners who handle sales and service work for more than 200 companies. LiveOps expanded beyond operating its own virtual contact center. It offers its technology to enterprise customers to run their own contact center operations.
In July 2010, LiveOps announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC (News - Alert)) named LiveOps On-Demand Contact Center Platform as a recipient of a 2010 IP Contact Center Technology Pioneer Award from its magazine, Customer Interaction Solutions.
