Will 'Crazy Tuesday' Live Up to its Reputation?
If Black Friday (News - Alert), the shopping day after Thanksgiving is meant to be a profitable day for retailers, then Crazy Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day is supposed to do the same for the self storage industry. This year Crazy Tuesday falls on May 31.
Traditionally, Crazy Tuesday has been dubbed as the busiest day for self storage owners and since it happens to fall on the last day of May, it may well create mayhem during the busiest moving day in the United States.
PhoneSmart self storage marketing is a call center offering storage unit reservation, which has generated over 600,000 leads for the self storage industry and has retained its leadership position in the self storage call center and source for sales training.
On May 11, 2010, PhoneSmart forecasted that the month would be an uncharacteristically busy month as ‘Crazy Tuesday’, the last Monday of the month and the first of June all 'swelled together to create a May Day buzz'.
And, characteristically PhoneSmart self storage call centers created a new record for the most reservations made in a single month. 3,165 reservations were made during the month of May, representing a $2,278,000.00 in revenue for its clients.
It has forecast an equally robust May for the current year with the usual spike on 'Crazy Tuesday' that could well sustain itself for some time.
In a press release, Tron Jordheim, Storage Mart CMO and Director, PhoneSmart explained, “Crazy Tuesday is when the season starts for self storage and when self storage owners start to see a profit.” and added, “‘Crazy Tuesday’ is the apex of a three-week spike in call volume for the self storage call center. PhoneSmart sees an average of a 25 percent jump in call volume on Crazy Tuesday that sustains until the middle of July.”
