Everbridge Prepares Communities for Hurricane Season
Incident notification systems provider Everbridge said Monday that numerous clients are proactively testing their notification service and preparing for the upcoming hurricane season with Everbridge's SmartGIS application.
Everbridge notes that AccuWeather is predicting that there will be an above average hurricane season in 2011.
Communities are bracing for the forecasted 15 named tropical storms, out of which eight will attain hurricane status and three will attain major hurricane status.
This grim forecast shows that it is important for people to prepare for a severe weather. This is especially true for those living along coastal regions as they are at the highest risk of facing the danger of these powerful storms.
Everbridge has been protecting these people for about a decade now and claims to be a trusted tool of choice for organizations facing inclement weather.
“AccuWeather provides its clients with mission-critical weather information that enables enterprises to protect lives, property, and business continuity,” Brad Mitchell, chief commercial officer for AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions, said in a statement. “Working with partners like Everbridge, we are able to get our warnings and alerts out more efficiently – helping enterprises all over the U.S. to proactively protect their business from the dangers of severe weather.”
The company leverages the most accurate, local, timely forecasts and severe weather alerts from AccuWeather to keep vital personnel up to date and when and where severe weather may strike.
“Everbridge SmartGIS is a powerful resource for organizations to utilize during any predictable or unforeseen weather-related event,” said Cinta Putra, chief executive officer for Everbridge. “By taking the proactive step in being prepared for this upcoming hurricane season and carefully planning out notification tactics, our clients are doing the very best to mitigate the weather's impact on their organization and their constituents.”
