Payday Express Holding Friendly Matches as Part of its Team Building Initiative

July 28, 2011

UK’s leading payday advance loans specialists Payday Express has adopted a unique approach to promote healthy competition among its employees. It all begun with a football match that took place earlier this month. Encouraged by the success of this interdepartmental event, the employees at Payday Express are planning to make such sporting events a regular feature.

Payday Express called the football math a “friendly clash” where staff from the instant approval payday loans company’s Contact Centre was pitted against members of its Collections team. The event was held at the ground of a local semi-professional squad, Bromley FC, in Kent.

The Contact Centre team laughed to the victory stand with a sweeping 12-7 score. Jamie Clifton and David Herron were named men of the match.

“It’s great to see that all who took part can take the competitive edge outside work, but still enjoy it as a great team building exercise. It’s events like this which add to the great working environment at Payday Express,” HR Advisor Richard Turner said in a statement.

According to Richard, the enthusiastic support of staff spectators appeared to be a key factor in Contact Centre’s triumph. This week, there will be another match, which is expected to turn lucky for the losing team, Richard expressed. Spectators can expect to see a loyal crowd of supporters cheering for their respective teams.

According to operations Manager Sarah Carroll, the events like these help to develop a sense of unity and comradeship among the staff members. This in turn enhanced teamwork and help the company better serve its customers.

“The company encourages friendly competition among staff members, and for staff to socialise outside of office hours in order to develop a sense of unity and comradeship. This in turn aids teamwork in the office, helping us to effectively provide payday advance loans to our customers with great customer service,” Carroll noted in a statement.

In a press release, Payday Express said that it is committed to continually boosting the morale of its staff and actively encourages both players and spectators to attend staff games.

In November last year, Payday Express announced that it has increased the open hours at its call center in order to be available for longer periods of time to its customers. This required  its call center representatives will be working longer hours throughout the week, and they can be contacted even outside of the normal working hours for exclusive or premium customers who require extra assistance.
