TMCnet's Outbound Call Center Week in Review

August 11, 2012

If there is any doubt that we live in a small world, one only has to take a look at the latest news in the outbound call center space. This week alone, there were several announcements about call centers opening up in many disparate parts of the world, such as Guatemala, China and Nepal. But there was also news from the home front as well, in what was a very busy news week!

There was plenty of news from Asia this week, as new call centers were announced in both Nepal and China. One such announcement was made by TelVerse Solutions, a Florida-based company that offers customer interaction solutions. Its latest call center will soon be opening in Kathmandu, Nepal. "After much market research, we found that Kathmandu, Nepal, is the diamond in the rough we had been searching for," said Ryan Cole, CEO of TelVerse.

Not far away, in China, another call center is opening soon. Biostar Pharmaceuticals, a company that makes and markets pharmaceutical and health supplement products, will be establishing a new business-to-customer outbound call center in Xianyang, China. "Promptly after receiving the 'green-light' approval from Xianyang State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) authorities to resume sales of gel capsule products, our management team met to design, develop and implement a plan to accelerate the recovery of the gel capsule segment of our business,” said Ronghua Wang, Biostar's CEO and chairman.

Across the world, in Guatemala, a similar story is unfolding. CustomerContactChannels (also known as C3 (News - Alert)), a company specializing in customer management solutions, has opened a contact center in Guatemala City. “Guatemala has become an ideal location for the types of services we provide,” said C3 president and chief operating officer Rick Ferry. “Guatemala City has a highly-skilled, multi-lingual workforce that is already well-trained in handling inbound customer calls, so the learning curve is shorter. Their Spanish and English are excellent and they closely identify with U.S. culture compared with other locations.”

On the home front, Home Depot announced a new call center right here in the United States, in Ogden, Utah and Kennesaw, Georgia.
