Hertz, a car rental brand in the U.S. and at 111 major airports in Europe, is building its brand awareness in Kuwait. It is taking advantage of its longstanding history in that country and is looking to establish Transworld as the face of the Hertz brand in that region.
The new partnership between the general use car rental brand and Transworld will build upon the growing number of outbound Hertz car rentals from Kuwait, noted officials. By representing the Hertz brand for outbound car rental in Kuwait, Transworld will be providing a new level of service and support for Kuwait’s trade professionals that make global rental bookings for customers.
"Providing a wealth of products for our customers has always been our aim and this partnership with Hertz allows us to widen the range of services we offer," said Cristiana Stefan, Hertz manager, Transworld.
By appointing Transworld as its general sales agent (GSA (News - Alert)) in Kuwait, Hertz will be increasing its investment in that region. It has been looking to improve its booking channels and customer service levels by launching an Arabic customer call center and its own country domain website, according to officials.
"We have an assertive long-term outbound growth strategy for Kuwait, which focuses on key destinations such as the U.S. and Europe," noted Stefan.
Europe and the U.S. still remain among the most popular outbound destinations for Hertz Kuwait customers in 2012, during which period the GCC market witnessed the most growth year-on-year. Kuwaitis renting in Oman grew by 166 percent, in Qatar by 150 percent and in the UAE by 55 percent.
Hertz product awareness among the travel trade is expected to increase and outbound sales will grow. It will use Transworld's extensive international retail network to boost business from corporate customers and consumers. Further, it hopes to increase its outbound car rental reservations to more than 8,800 locations worldwide in 150 countries.
In November 2012, Hertz Kuwait was awarded the coveted Superbrand status, further establishing the car rental company as one of the top choices for both business and leisure travelers in the country. The company also recently launched a mobile Wi-Fi offering in the U.K., Spain, the Canary Islands, Australia and New Zealand. Thanks to the mobile network provided by Wind, Hertz customers can browse at high speed (up to 21 Mbps) with unlimited data traffic for downloading and uploading. Customers can connect up to eight devices at the same time, such as smartphones, tablets, notebooks and mini game consoles.
