Deutsche Telekom (News - Alert) recently announced that it has selected Swyx, a unified communication company, to support the expansion of its suite of cloud solutions for its business customers. Dortmund-based Swyx will provide support to the cloud based DeutschlandLAN 2.0 solution.
In a statement, Dirk Backofen, Director of Marketing for business customers at Deutsche Telekom, said, "We reviewed the market of UC-enabled telephone systems thoroughly before eventually deciding on Swyx for the extension of our DeutschlandLAN offering. It was important that we have a product that suits medium-sized customers within our modular product family DeutschlandLAN and with a cloud based UC solution we can offer the features and flexibility to meet the individual requirements of our customers. In short, Swyx precisely fulfills this criteria.”
The main target base for the UC application are medium sized enterprises that are keen on enhancing their corporate communications structure with advanced and scalable range of UC capabilities. The UC application will also provide these customers with a flexible cost model in addition to providing them access to secure and highly available services through a secure datacenter.
Dr. Ralf Ebbinghaus, CEO of Swyx Solutions, said, "We already have more than a ten year history, where we have together successfully established our UC solution in the market. The on-premise based UC Solution is an area in which we want to grow further together with Telekom, whilst the second is cloud for which I can see enormous potential."
Deutsche Telekom decided to select Swyx based on its leading expertise within the UC arena. After a careful market research, Swyx was found to be the perfect fit for addressing Deutsche Telekom’s cloud solutions expansion initiatives for SMEs. Furthermore, the decision to include the UC-Software within Deutsche Telekom’s suite of cloud solutions was also taken after viewing the success rate of the Swyx on-premise solution.
