The new contact center is déjà vu for Tom Cardella, TLC&A’s President and CEO. Cardella had founded Access Direct in 1995, and launched a Marshalltown center in 1998. In 2000 he sold Access Direct to IAC/InterActiveCorp (IAC), parent company of Ticketmaster, Expedia (News - Alert).com, LendingTree, Match.com, and Home Shopping Network in 2000. In January 2003, IAC asked Mr. Cardella to run Precision Response Corporation, which he did so until he retired in 2005. In 2007 he formed TLC&A.
“We are excited to once again be conducting business in the Marshalltown area,” says Cardella. “Even more exciting, is the exposure our Fortune 500 clients will have to this stable, hardworking community.”
Thomas L. Cardella & Associates currently employs 710 across three contact center locations in Cedar Rapids, Coralville, and Keokuk, IA. The Marshalltown contact center will bring total employment to 910.
The new site will bring in a payroll of over $4 million/year to the community, which has a population of over 25,000. The staff will be acting as representatives for topnotch firms. TLC&A serves Fortune 500 clients in the financial services, insurance, publication, technology, telecom, entertainment, utilities, and travel industries.
“As Mayor of Marshalltown I am very pleased to see these 200 jobs coming to Marshalltown,” says Mayor Gene Beach. “In my conversations with Mr. Cardella, I was assured that these would be good wages with benefits. In the current economic climate, this is very important.”
