Nokia Siemens Networks to Extend Network for Czech Provider

Nokia Siemens Networks reportedly will undertake a network extension and upgrade for Czech broadcast and telecommunications services provider Ceské Radiokomunikace, which has been operating in the market for 45 years.

 
The Czech provider always strives to improve its offer of data and voice services, including Voice over IP and Virtual Private Network, to corporate and wholesale customers. The company hopes this extension will allow data rates of up to 10 Gbps and support multi play services.
 
Nokia (News - Alert) Siemens Networks, a global enabler of telecommunications services, provides a complete portfolio of mobile, fixed and converged network technology, as well as professional services including consultancy and systems integration, deployment, maintenance and managed services.
 
For the Ceské Radiokomunikace contract, Nokia Siemens Networks (News - Alert) will deploy high-performance Carrier Ethernet service routers and access switches, which offer low latency and high network security and support advanced applications and services.
 
Libor Kubišta, chief operating officer of Ceské Radiokomunikace, said an increase in demand of more and more bandwidth-hungry services and said this modernization will allow them to address their growing needs by utilizing a powerful IP and Carrier Ethernet environment.
 
Nokia Siemens Networks is helping them to strengthen their proposition to corporate and wholesale customers and consolidate their position as a major data provider in Czech Republic.
 
The officials inform that the network extension utilize Juniper Networks (News - Alert) MX/EX series routers optimized for carrier-class Ethernet routing and packet-switching which will enable the high data rates. Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will also provide Ceské Radiokomunikace with network implementation, design and care services.
 
“Czech Republic is one of the most developed telecoms markets in the region and demand for data services in the country is growing,” said Dietmar Appeltauer, head of subregion central east, in a statement. “This network extension will allow the service provider to offer fast and reliable Internet without data transfer limits to corporate users and ISPs, as well as cost-effective voice services.”
