New PrivacyStar Application Launched by First Orion For BlackBerry Users in Canada

January 15, 2010
First Orion (News - Alert), a corporation with intellectual property portfolio committed to phone privacy and preference, recently announced the launch of the PrivacyStar application for Canadian BlackBerry (News - Alert) users.

PrivacyStar can be downloaded by accessing the PrivacyStar web site or BlackBerry App World. Once inside App World users need to look for PrivacyStar and the download link will be e-mailed to users.

PrivacyStar is an easy-to-use mobile application that helps users to be in command of of their phones by blocking any unwanted calls, utilizing Caller Lookup to spot unknown callers and quickly flag unwanted telemarketing violators to regulatory authorities.

Users can also access call information, including how many times a blocked number has made a call. An 800-search service can even also determine who is calling from a 1-800 number, completely eliminating the anonymity associated with such numbers.

BlackBerry users can alter their phone's privacy settings directly on their device or on their own synchronized personal web portal using the PrivacyStar application. Blocked numbers can be added or taken off the application via their BlackBerry or personal web portal. The web portal is fully integrated and in tune with the device. Any change affected via either the website or the device will automatically be synchronized with the other.

PrivacyStar is arguably the only mobile application that enables authorities to determine and establish potential telemarketing violators. PrivacyStar records complete information about probable violations comprising date, time, number and identity and also permits the user to easily supply this data to law enforcement authorities for further action.

The latest application is simple to use. If they wish to block calls from any particular number or from a number which recently placed a call to them, users can choose the number from the call log to add to the Privacy List.

PrivacyStar can also record comprehensive data about probable violations including date, time, number and identity, if desired by user. Subsequently this information can also be passed on to law enforcement authorities so they may take action. Users who receive a call from unknown numbers can use the PrivacyStar Caller Lookup function to identify the callers by name and take appropriate action, such as appending to the contacts list or Privacy List.
