Apprenda, the creator of SaaSGrid a software-as-a-service application server, announced the availability of a SaaSGrid API for Microsoft (News - Alert) Silverlight.

 

The SaaSGrid API will be able to provide support for Silverlight-based applications which can be deployed as a component of fully commercialized, multi-tenant SaaS (News - Alert) offering, said Apprenda sources.

 

Silverlight’s development platform can offer engaging, interactive user experiences for Web, desktop and mobile applications. Now software companies can deliver a single instance of their Silverlight application to all of their customers using SaaSGrid. They can also have granular control over the individual customer experiences across every user interface.

Silverlight can be deployed in tenant aware fashion using SaaSGrid enabling the seamless merger of end user’s Silverlight experience with a multi-tenant SaaS backend. When end users access their Silverlight application, SaaSGrid automatically ensures data isolation, feature and subscription access from their desktop client.

 

Company officials said that SaaSGrid is Apprenda’s general-purpose software-as-a-service application server for ISVs and internal IT departments. It provides standard SaaS architecture requirements like multi-tenancy, scalability and automatic provisioning. This allows developers to focus on building function-rich, on-demand enterprise applications.
