Xactly Selects Birst to Provide Single, Consistent View of Key Operational Data

September 21, 2010

Xactly Corporation, the leader in on-demand sales performance management (SPM), has chosen Birst, a leading provider of on-demand solutions for business intelligence (BI) and analytics, to provide a single, consistent view of key operational data generated by multiple SaaS applications. This combined information from internal sales, marketing, financial, and billing applications will help Xactly (News - Alert) employees make better, faster decisions.

In a press release Mike Krilich, manager of Sales Operations, Xactly Corporation, said, “In today's fast-paced marketplace, it is critical to have a single source of the truth to make actionable business decisions quickly and accurately. Birst will enable us to connect the data from the best-of-breed applications in our Cloud-based infrastructure to gain a real-time, holistic view into our business performance, anytime, anywhere.”

Xactly's on-demand sales compensation solutions allow companies to easily and affordably design, implement, manage, audit, and communicate sales compensation programs. Xactly employs a variety of SaaS (News - Alert) applications to manage the company's sales pipeline and results, marketing campaigns, finances, and customer subscriptions and billing.

Xactly’s decision to choose Birst was based on the following inferences:

Its on-demand architecture

ease-of-use

native integration with salesforce.com

ability to readily connect data from other critical SaaS applications in Xactly's IT infrastructure

Its scalability -- a key consideration for Xactly's fast-growing business -- and its ability to take "snapshots" of information that show trends over time.

Using Birst, Xactly employees will be able to view key operational data when connected online, as well as from a variety of mobile devices, such as the Apple iPhone, RIM BlackBerry, and Google Android (News - Alert). With this secure mobile access provided through Birst Mobile, Xactly employees will be able to view up-to-the-minute reports, no matter where they are.

Brad Peters, CEO of Birst, said, “A decision based on inaccurate or inconsistent information is frequently ineffectual at best and harmful at worst. Because Birst can connect to underlying databases, it acts as a platform that can easily and affordably combine and analyze data from multiple applications. With reliable, consolidated information provided by Birst, everyone can be on the same page at the same time, making the best decisions possible.”

Recently, Birst was in news when it selected Infobright Enterprise Edition (IEE) as the data engine behind Birst's multi-tenant BI solution.
