Cbeyond Enhances Customer Experience with Hosted Microsoft Exchange

October 06, 2010

Cbeyond, a provider of IT and communications services to more than 53,000 small businesses, has started to provide customers with full Hosted Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange interoperability with devices such as the iPhone and Android smartphones.

Officials with Cbeyond said that the Hosted Microsoft Exchange, a business-class email solution by Microsoft, allows users to synchronize e-mail accounts, calendars and tasks across platforms, from PCs to Macs to smartphones, and thereby enable collaboration between team members, no matter where they are or what platform they prefer.

Company officials said that the users have always had the ability to sync their Cbeyond (News - Alert) email accounts with the iPhone and other mobile devices, but Cbeyond small business customers can now sync all HME-enabled services including calendars and contacts with their smart phone of choice.

“This is another example of how Cbeyond continues to provide our business with flexible technology solutions and plans specifically designed to help us grow,” said Steve Cashwell, Cbeyond customer, CIO for Jabian Consulting.

According to company officials, using ActiveSync software, Cbeyond customers can synchronize all their HME services with their Windows Mobile, Apple (News - Alert) iOS, Android, Palm webOS and Symbian mobile devices.

BlackBerry users who do not use Cbeyond’s mobile network can use the Cbeyond hosted Blackberry Enterprise Server to sync with Cbeyond’s Hosted Microsoft Exchange solution.

“We understand that our small business customers have unique needs,” said Jon Harmer, director of product management for Cbeyond.

“Enabling our customers to sync with any smart phone whether on or off our network gives them the best experience possible, and that’s our core focus,” said Harmer.

Company officials said that Cbeyond provides more than 30 productivity-enhancing applications to small businesses, including voice, broadband, mobile, messaging, security and marketing services.
