Pingsta Expands Internet Expert 'Workforce In The Cloud'
February 05, 2010
For more than 10 years companies have been able to tap “contact center agents in the cloud” via firms such as Arise, LiveOps (News
) and Working Solutions, to name a few that arrange calls to be handled by independent well-qualified home-based individuals that paid to be set up on a shared-agent basis.
This same kind of resource-maximizing flexibility and functionality is now becoming more available for the IT specifically the Internet sector but with a key twist: imagine contact centers willing to lend out their available agents at home or in centers to other companies for fees.
-- the collaborative platform for Internet experts and Network-Expertise-in-the-Cloud service provider -- is doing just that in its field. It has launched Virtual Private ICE (VPI) for break-fix technical support, consulting and R&D tasks. This is a subscription-based service that enables enterprises, IT service providers and government agencies worldwide to enhance workforce collaboration, capture reusable knowledge and monetize excess intellectual capacity to generate new, green revenue streams.
Pingsta VPI connects workers and organizations via a secure cloud-based platform. Pingsta VPI is fully customized with real-time connection features such as user task feeds, ongoing knowledge capture and validation tools, as well as the capacity to monetize excess intellectual capital.
“With Pingsta VPI, organizations can now create their own workforce-in-the-cloud platform across all industries and areas of expertise, enhance collaboration like never before and monetize excess intellectual capital to generate a new and differentiated revenue stream,” said Deka Yussuf, VP of marketing at Pingsta. “Imagine a scenario where Internet Service Provider A has a certain critical skill set in its VPI cloud that Internet Service Provider B requires urgently to roll out a new service. Rather than ISP B going out to hire engineers, it simply taps into ISP A’s VPI cloud for the needed skill set on-demand and only pays per use.”
Pingsta VPI is available in three editions:
* Gold -- for Enterprises across all industry segments
* Platinum -- for service providers
* Government -- for government agencies
The lack of a plug-and-play customer-workforce collaboration and knowledge capture platform hinders the agility and scalability of organizations, resulting, Pingsta said, in reduced productivity and increased operational costs. Additionally, recent industry research shows that all organizational workforces are underutilized leading to about $1,000 worth of untapped excess intellectual capital going to waste every day per knowledgeable employee.
“The opening up of our APIs to enable the integration of third-party corporate applications into the Pingsta VPI platform will greatly enhance the user-experience,” said Tobi Knaup, lead software architect at Pingsta.Brendan B.
