Public Safety Solution DispatchNow Deployed in Colorado County, Texas

October 25, 2010

Tiburon Inc announced it will implement its DispatchNow Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and mobile hosted solutions to Colorado County in Texas. Part of the inaugural implementation, the company has also signed on to implement DispatchNow Mobile units for the cities of Columbus and Weimar through the Colorado County program. DispatchNow has full functionality through secure hosted model that allows secure access from Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) with reduced on-site maintenance.

Fully functional DispatchNow system has been implemented within three months from contract signature at Tiburon and Colorado County because of the full functionality with no database servers installed at PSAP facilities, saving significant time in system deployment, eliminating the need to purchase or maintain costly hardware equipment or hire and train directed IT personnel available through this system. This system will maintain the absolute security and integrity of mission-critical data at a secure off-site location on a fault resilient hardware/software platform with an elevated level of system availability as part of the cloud computing model. This also gives very cost effective backup center capability.

Ian Archbell, Tiburon chief marketing officer said, “Implementing DispatchNow in Colorado County represents our first success in providing an advanced public safety solution without the need for extensive on-site implementation and management”. He also mentioned that with the scalability of the SaaS (News - Alert) model, they are offering world-class public safety solutions to agencies to meet their current needs and be enabled and prepared for next generation 9-1-1 technologies. In addition to that by hosting the solution entirely out of regular operations it is so affordable and agencies may not even need to tap into capital expenditure budgets.

To deliver the fault resilient solution to Colorado County, Intrado’s (News - Alert) next generation secure and fully redundant nationwide infrastructure will be used by Tiburon. Intrado is a strategic partner of Tiburon, the leading provider of advanced next generation 911 (NG911) technology solutions and a subsidiary of West Corporation.

Colorado County Sheriff R. H. “Curly” Wied said “Like many other agencies across the country, we are balancing stressed budgets with the obligation to modernize outdated public safety technologies that help our dispatchers and front line effectively respond to the needs of our communities, but beyond affordability, being able to deploy a full-featured DispatchNow system in weeks, rather than months is what mattered most to us in Colorado County”. Increase in speed and quality of law enforcement, fire and rescue and game management services while significantly enhancing the safety personnel and the community will be offered for the Colorado County personnel and its 20,000 residents the benefit of a feature-rich command and control and incident response platform through Tiburon’s SaaS solution. Colorado County is spanning almost 1,000 square miles and is divided by an interstate highway traveled by thousands of motorists on a daily basis.

Weimar Police Department Chief Bill Livingston said “DispatchNow Mobile arms our officers with more of the critical data they need to safely and efficiently respond to calls in the field and not only are manual tasks automated now with the technology of the mobile system, but our officers can file required reporting instantly from their squad cars. The automatic vehicle location (AVL) capabilities also greatly improve our officer safety and response effectiveness”. Based on the Positron Data Applications that Tiburon purchased during 2009, DispatchNow will be offering Computer Aided Dispatch, Mobile and Web CAD services in a rapid, affordable and easy to manage public safety solution called NG911-ready.
