TMCnet's Outbound Call Center Week in Review

September 06, 2011

This past week, covering the outbound call center space, TMC’s (News - Alert) Calvin Azuri wrote personal injury solicitors at JMW in Manchester have said that Compensation Claims Companies, which make unsolicited calls to both private residence numbers and to mobile numbers inquiring and urging recipients to file for accident compensation claims might well be in violation of laws which govern the claims industry. The solicitors have urged recipients to report all such calls to the Ministry of Justice.

Richard Powell, who heads the Personal Injury Department at Manchester Solicitors JMW, took to blogging to explain how during his stay in holiday accommodation he was at the receiving end of these unsolicited calls.

In a release, Richard Powell said that "The apartment is not used as a private dwelling at any time of year, it is solely for holiday lets, so this landline number would not be on record as 'belonging' to any individual person. On answering the call, there was an automated message referring to a recent accident and saying that an adviser was on hand to talk to me and secure several thousands of pounds in compensation for me."

Also this week, Rajani Baburajan reported that My Social Income (MSI (News - Alert)), a provider of communication services, announced its plans to enter the growing Indian market with a launch of its unique direct marketing program, products and services.

The India launch is part of My Social Income’s expansion into international markets. In India, the direct marketing has grown substantially in the past two years and it is likely to increase by 15-20 percent per year, according to company officials.

“We expect this to be a tremendous catalyst for new business, increased customer base and revenues. India is a market primed for our business model and its services,” said John A. Roberts, CEO of MSI, in a statement. “I’m confident it will serve as an excellent lead-in for new business internationally as we continue to provide solid growth domestically.”

MSI has partnered with Jim Clayton, a direct and affiliate marketing executive, and his firm, MARKETS, to spearhead its initiative to attract large international direct sales organizations and international network companies.

MSI will use Clayton’s extensive experience in both domestic and international business. Clayton consulted as chief operating officer to Healthy Coffee USA, an international start-up network marketing initiative.

And this past week Rahul Arora noted that according to media sales management software provider Matrix Solutions, TV station operator Allbritton Communications Company chose Matrix for its Web-based CRM and sales analytics software. The software helps media companies improve the effectiveness of their sales organizations.

"Since May of this year momentum and demand for our revolutionary product has been tremendous," said DJ Cavanaugh, CEO and partner of Matrix Solutions, in a statement. "We are incredibly proud of our innovative CRM and sales analytics solution built specifically for media sales; and we are delighted to add Allbritton Communications to the growing list of clients installing our product this year."

With Matrix, Allbritton Communications will be able to access sales history and trends, accurate and efficient forecasting for multi-channels and platforms and information on deals and activities.

"We are very eager to utilize Matrix in our sales organization," said James Killen, corporate vice president of sales at Allbritton Communications. "While reporting and analytics have been their bread and butter, providing accurate and reliable knowledge into advertising sales across our organization is a ‘must’ in today's diverse and competitive industry and nobody does it better than Matrix."
